Player Summary
Hood is a physical press-man CB, dominates with disruptive punches that suffocate outside releases, aggressive catch-point battles for top positioning, and box-safety run support—triggering downhill explosively to limit YAC, finish with stopping power against bigger backs, and force incompletions at an SEC-leading rate while turning his side into a no-fly zone. He maintains phase on verticals, erases in-breakers from press or off looks, and operates disciplined against high/low concepts in zone. Weaknesses include vulnerability to twitchy/shifty NFL releases, sticky hips on sudden transitions, grabby tendencies when out of phase, occasional ball-tracking lapses or zone-switch missteps, developing off-coverage instincts, and leggy open-field tackling. Despite a toe injury limiting Senior Bowl practice, his poise, patience, and ball plays in sessions cemented first-round status; Hood projects as a mentality-driven CB2 with upside in press-heavy schemes.
