Player Summary
Fields is a big body receiver who brings elite size and strength as well as an innate high point abiltiy to leap, adjust, and bring the ball in with very strong hands. His large frame and history of circus grabs will make him a valuable safety blanket for QBs. He lacks the burst, speed, and route running ability to create consistent seperation however. His size does still allow him to be a threat after the catch becasue of the difficulty in bringing him down. He contributes meaningfully in the run game as a blocker, and was well-ultiized in the Notre Dame offense in that capacity. Most commentary indicates his prolific success in contested catch scenarios, but PFF grades indicate otherwise. May be worth more investigation. Overall, this is a late day two, early day three pick that can be a solid WR3 with time.
Strengths
• Elite Size, Strength, High Point Ability • Able to Leap, Adjust, Extend • Dominant Blocker • Size Makes Him Hard To Bring Down • Works Outside His Frame Well
Weaknesses
• Lacks Explosiveness, High End Speed • Delayed Release Vs Press • Lacks Foot Quickness to Separate • Very Basic Route running
